Solomon Hughes

Solomon Hughes played Division 1 basketball at the University of California, and graduated with a BA in Sociology, and a MA in Education. He went on to obtain his Ph.D. from the University of Georgia, before joining the faculty at both Duke University and then Stanford University, where he designed courses that examined intersections of race, opportunities, college achievements, and college athletics. Solomon is currently an American actor in the HBO series "Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty" playing the role of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. He has a passion for seeing all kids have the opportunities to learn, have fun, and grow in the sports that they love, regardless of socioeconomic status.
